Arcadia Fire Station

On the site of an existing fire station, the City of Arcadia sought to build a facility that would house the existing fire station, as well as the headquarters for the City's fire department. A compressed site, with existing trees, in an established neighborhood, and facing a busy street became an opportunity to create a strong landscape identity that respected the neighborhood, yet was legible from the street. Masses of flowering shrubs, add color and life to the narrow east frontage, while trees characteristic of the exisitng neighborhood establish a rhythm for the passing cars.
