Oasis Senior CenterAn important goal for the City of Newport Beach is the provision of services for all the segments of it's residents. Like many cities, it has a growing senior population, and in 2007 it began the process of developing a facility in the heart of the Corona Del Mar area of the city. The facility features classrooms, muti-purpose rooms, community gardens, a kitchen and auditorium, surrounding a quiet courtyard designed to host gatherings of various sizes. Landscape practices that contributed to the Gold LEED rating included the use of drip irrigation, low albedo paving and extensive low water use plantings.
