William Rabben

William Rabben is an internationally recognized landscape architect and designer with over twenty years of experience. His work has influenced and inspired a wide variety of settings and environments including the design of campus landscapes, urban park and open space systems, corporate headquarters, themed attractions, resort planning and design, and award winning gardens, city space and waterfront environments.

Prior to founding Rabben/Herman design office, Bill started his own firm in 1993. Prior to starting the Office of William Rabben, he was principal and design director for the Southern California office of EDAW, Inc. 1982 to 1991. Before joining EDAW, he was an associate and project designer with the SWA group in their Laguna Beach and Sausalito , California offices. Prior to joining SWA, Mr. Rabben was a Senior Associate with the firm of Sasaki Associates in Watertown, Massachusetts .

Bill’s most notable projects include the Charleston South Carolina waterfront park, his ten year association expanding the Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian campus in Newport Beach, California, designing the Scottsdale Princess Hotel landscapes, and leading the design of the Asia Pacific Trade Center in Osaka, Japan.

Daniel Herman

Daniel Herman was Principal and Vice President of the international firm of EDAW for thirteen years and Harland Bartholomew & Associates for twelve years prior to founding Rabben/Herman Design Office. He is trained and licensed as a landscape architect and has developed a broad background in visitor attractions, master planning with a portfolio of projects completed throughout the world. Project experience includes theme parks, hotels and golf resorts, and mixed-use entertainment centers. His proudest project accomplishments include directing all site development for Universal Studio’s Island’s of Adventure theme park in Orlando, Florida, directing the design for Warner Bros. theme park in Madrid Spain, designing the 3000 acre Council Bluff Recreation Area in southern Missouri for the US Forest Service, and leading the Strategic Vision Plan for all of the US Navy Southern Division facilities in the south western United States.

Thomas Skinfill

Mr. Skinfill is a Landscape Architect with over 23 years of extensive experience in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design. His domestic and international experience includes large scale urban design, resort/hotel, commercial/retail, and high-density residential projects in locales such as: England, the Middle East, throughout Asia, Australia, Mexico, and South Pacific Islands as well as the United States. Prior to joining R/Hdo, Mr. Skinfill was a partner with SLA Studio Land - Irvine; the SWA Group, Laguna Beach, CA.; Media Five Architects, Honolulu, HI; EDAW, Inc., Irvine, CA.; and Peridian Group, Irvine, CA. Project Experience includes: Moody Gardens, Galveston, TX. Bugis Junction, Singapore Kuala Lumpur City Center Master Plan, Malaysia -1988-1989; Burj Dubai Master Plan, Dubai, UAE Raffles City Shopping Center, Singapore West of West Development, Disneyland, Anaheim, CA Disneyland Hotel, Marina Tower Entry and Arrival Court, Disneyland, Anaheim, CA Universal Bali Resort Hotel, Orlando, Florida Houston Entertainment Center, Houston, Texas Seacon Square Shopping Center, Bangkok, Thailand.

Tom Jewell

Tom Jewell, Senior Associate, is a licensed landscape architect with 20 years of professional experience in the fields of landscape architecture and site planning. His experience includes work in Europe, Asia and both coasts of the United States . While much of his practice has emphasized the technical aspects of his field, his experience includes preparing both design and construction documents.

His experience is similarly diverse in terms of project type, including theme parks, hospitality, civic improvements, health care and religious institutions. Projects characteristic of his experience include Seuss Landing at Universal’s Island of Adventure theme park in Orlando, Florida; The Crowne Plaza in garden Grove, California , and The Children’s Ministry center for Saddleback Church in Lake Forest California.
